What is a Spud Gun? A "Spud Gun, potato gun, Spud Zooka, Spud Launcher, etc" is a device made of either PVC pipe or ABS pipe that is used to launch fruits, vegetables, or other items (usually potatoes) into the air. They can launch an average spud over 200 yards using average hair spray (aerosol type).    How does it work? The potato or other projectile is pushed down into the barrel (the sharpened end of the barrel cuts off the excess potato [picture] ) to the base [picture] (where the barrel meets the combustion chamber) using a ramrod (usually a broom stick or something). Aerosol hair spray is then sprayed into the chamber from the chamber end, and the cap is screwed back on [picture]. When you twist the Sparker [picture], it ignites the hair spray. The rapidly expanding gases push the potato out at very high speeds.
